Hillycroft Fisheries has a fantastic team of well trained and highly motivated staff who are passionate about creating the tastiest fish and chips and delivering exceptional standards of customer service.
All of our team are trained in food hygiene and hold at least a level 2 food hygiene qualification. Some members of our team are also trained in first aid and health & safety as well as fire safety.

Owner Rafael Chandler
Hillycroft Fisheries owner Rafael Chandler has been involved in the fish and chip industry for over 18 years. Having recently sold his very successful award-winning fish and chip takeaway in Farsley, Leeds, he has taken over ownership of Hillycroft Fisheries in Morley. Rafael is passionate about delivering the best quality fish and chips along with exceptional customer service, in a clean, modern and fresh environment.
During his career so far, Rafael has been a board member and training course tutor at the National Federation of Fish Friers, and a trainer for Florigo, one of the leading frying range manufacturers.
“The fish and chip industry has been part of my life for many years, having first started out as a young prep boy at the age of 16, to owning my own fish and chip business at the age of 21. I am passionate about sourcing the finest ingredients to create our delicious fish and chips, and informing our customers of the provenance and sustainability of these ingredients as I believe in being transparent about the products we use. I’m also constantly evaluating how we can reduce the impact the business has on the environment.”
